The Decemberists John Moen is releasing his second solo album under the moniker ‘Perhapst” via Portland, Oregon’s Jealous Butcher Records on 25 June.

The album is called ‘Revise Your Maps’ and is a record packed with bright, breezy reflective and harmonious, indie gems.

John Moen is the drummer and harmony right-hand man for the Decemberists, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, and Robert Pollard's Boston Spaceships. He also played with, Elliott Smith as well as being the former front man of Portland's legendary band Maroons.

‘Revise the Maps’ was recorded and produced by Jonathan Drews at his Last of the Explorers studio and has twelve songs which with Moen’s peerless falsetto keeps you entranced throughout. The themes change; the title song is the most wistful and perhaps delicate song on the record whilst the ‘balls-out’ rocker, ‘Sorrow and Shame’, follows this. Next up is a Midlake like, ‘True Sparrow’ and so the record progress in such an eye-opening manner. It also contains some nice jangly guitars the Roger Mcquinn or Tom Petty would be proud of.

Revise Your Maps is a record that if, you can get your hands on it from the U.S. or itunes (where it seems to be available now) that you will most probably fall in love with this Summer.

Only U.S. dates so far but he hoping John makes it across the pond with this record.
